MINISTRIES

Below we have a list of most of the ministries that we offer here at Tunkhannock United Methodist Church. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible when joining one of our ministry programs. We believe that engaging in fellowship is a very important tool when growing to be more like Jesus. The encouragment of others is a powerful thing.

Small Groups

There are several small groups available right now for you to check out.  The link below will provide more information about each of them to help you choose the one that is best for you.  The days/times also vary to provide you more opportunities to get involved!  We look forward to having you join us.

Missions

As a United Methodist congregations, we believe in being connectional and in reaching outwards to build new disciples for Jesus Christ.  As part of that, we share our love through serving others.  We have many different opportunities for engaging in Missions whether you're more able to give your time or help out financially or by donating items!  Look for an update on missions to get added soon!

Children & Youth

Our Children and Youth Ministry is an area where we are continuing to invest effort and grow.  We know that youth are the future of our church.  We have a variety of programs and events geared for all ages, pre-school through High School that help them explore their faith in a fun, safe, social enviornment.  We will tackle hard topics and grow stronger in Christ. Bring a friend every Sunday night at 6pm for Youth Group. We look forward to seeing you there!

Men's Ministry

Men's Ministries host several meals that double as fellowship for the members of our church as well as serving our community.  The annual Roast Beef Dinner is at the end of October and the ham dinner is in March.  We look forward to having you with us!

Care Team

The mission of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church Care Team is to support those members and friends of the TUMC who are home-bound, ill or experiencing life challenges.  The Care Team seeks to share the love of Jesus Christ through visits in the home, hospital or nursing care facilities.

Women's Ministry

Women have the choice of a variety of ways in the church to serve, study or fellowship, such as the weekly Covenant Group Bible study, the monthly Gathering of Women social evening, United Methodist Women’s special events or as a volunteer on the Funeral Meals committee.

Prison Ministry

We have several folks that go to the Wyoming County Jail monthly to worship and do Bible studies with the inmates.

Church has Left the Building

Each year we meet for a brief kickoff worship session and then head out into the community for a day of service.  We have about 10 activities in the community ranging from helping non-profits to singing at a nursing home.
