WOW (Women of Worship)

did a mission for Domestic Violence Awareness month, and together they provided a beautiful opportunity to shine God's love into the lives of women rebuilding from trauma and loss. They were honored to collect and donate 15 baskets, gift cards, cash and checks for the Victim's Resource Center.

Care Team

Shares the love of their Lord with all those that need a listening ear through calls, cards, meals and of course visiting our shut-ins.

Covenant

is continuing with their card ministry, sending cards to church members for Birthdays, Anniversaries, illness or just thinking of you. We are continuing to share prayer concerns and joys throughout our group, coordinate the prayer chain, coffee fellowship and funeral dinners. Currently they are buying gifts for The Giving Tree. 

The Fair Committee

mission is to bring people together (both in our church family and throughout the community) by sharing God's love through good food, friendly service, and a welcoming place for all who visit. Funds raised were used to support various local non-profit organizations. Missions, pastor's discretionary fund (fuel only), sneakers for children in Mexico, Victim's Resource Center, Patriot's Cove, Haiti, and prison  ministry.

TUMC Fall Fest

brings together quilt displays, live music, cookies, soups and specialty baskets. Proceeds have allowed us to buy stamps for care cards and help to support internal mission projects within the church. Our wonderful congregation show their love, support and community spirit year after year.

Church Has Left the Building

is an annual event in which a large number of members and attendees reach out into the community for various supportive events. Examples of this include: the chancel choir sing at The Embassy and the Tunkhannock Manor; hands-on work at the libnrary and the drop-in center; curbside weed elimination; cheery cards were made and distributed by the Sunday School children and meals were delivered to shut-ins. The flute choir will play at the new Tunkhannock Rehab Center at a later time. 

 

Our Mexico Mission: "Eliminate Poverty Through Education"

in Playa del Carmen is very active. Funds were donated from the Fair committee and the Planting Seeds campaign. 200 children were given a pair of sneakers in the communities of Cristo Rey ands Torres de La Paz. Our goal is to raise $1200.00 monthly to feed and provide sneakers for 700 children a year. In keeping with our dedication to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, 30 spanish print New Testament bibles were delivered to Casa De Fe Church in Playa Del Carmen for children.

 

Parade of Trees

is held annually in conjunction with Christmas in our Hometown. The church is open to the public to come and view a variety of unique and nicely decorated trees. Soup, cookies and hot cocoa will be available. The chancel choir, praise band and flute choir will be on hand to entertain guests. 

Haiti Mango Farm

2 tractors are working the land not only at the mango farm, but also local farm land as well. This is a very big help to farmers receiving our assistance as they would normally be working the land by hand. This is funded in part by the Fair committee. 

Days for Girls kits were provided along with educational information. This was directed at teenage girls and includes factual information of the young female monthly cycle.
